at What age can a student start lessons?

Every child is unique, so the appropriate age to start lessons can depend on the child’s disposition. A student should be able to engage with their teacher for a 30 minute time period without a parent or guardian.

In general, 5 years old is the threshold at which most students will be ready for piano or drum lessons. Other instruments may require further development to physically use.

It is possible for students to begin lessons at an earlier age, but it should be understood that their progress may not be seen in the traditional sense of playing ability. Instead students under the age of 5 are gaining an early exposure to musical ideas that will help them later in life when they obtain the level of focus necessary to tackle more concrete achievements.

Do you accept charter school payments?

Yes! Beach Cities Rock Club is registered and accepts payments from several charters including: iLead, & Cabrillo

If you are a part of a charter program that is not listed above, please reach out to us via the contact form above as we may be able to add your charter.

How does it work?

Our lessons are set up as a weekly recurring timeslot of either 30 mins or 1 hour. Once you submit an application online, our schedule manager, Sarah, will reach out to you via phone call to discuss the students details in order to determine the best teacher and timeslot for them. After a timeslot is agreed upon, the lesson will be scheduled and you will be sent the billing registration, which is to be completed before the first lesson. Your lesson time will be the same day and time each week.

What if we are out of town or miss a lesson?

If you know ahead of time that you wont be able to make it to a scheduled lesson date, we have provided a form on this site to submit a MAKE UP REQUEST.

NOTE: All Make Up Requests must be made via via our “Make Up Request” form 24hrs before the time of the missed lesson. Simply fill out the form and date of missed lesson and we’ll update the teachers schedule accordingly. Make up lessons are scheduled separately from weekly recurring lessons.

Do you accept adult students?

Yes! There is no age limit to learning at Beach Cities Rock Club.
